United Way Northwest Indiana partners with the MAAC Foundation to offer an Emergency Medical Responder Course given Mondays and Thursdays from Jun. 15 through Aug. 1. The course, open to participants (ages 14 and up), teaches basic life-saving skills to build a stronger local pool of responders.
Indiana American Water awarded a $40,000 grant on May 20 to Dunes Learning Center to fund its canoe paddling program that teaches watershed education to thousands of local students. The nonprofit uses the grant for free, hands-on environmental lessons — a valued annual effort.
