- ➤ Porter County’s Recycling and Waste Reduction District seeks volunteers for its 17th annual Earth Day Celebration on Saturday April 12 from 9am to 1pm at the Porter County Expo Center, with shifts available on Friday April 11 and additional times on Saturday. - ➤ On Monday, March 24th, the City Council approved Ordinance No.6 by a 4-2 vote that sets new rules for businesses asking for economic incentives by requiring detailed payroll data, subcontractor records, and local apprenticeship programs while raising the incentive threshold to $350,000 and clarifying exemption guidelines for developers from nearby counties.
