- ➤ Students at the Area Career Center competed at Skills USA State in early April and many earned Nationals spots in Radio/TV and Culinary. They will compete in Skills USA and HOSA in June plus host a May 8 Mass Casualty Day fundraiser with volunteers. NWI.LIFE

- ➤ The Leadership Institute at Purdue Northwest hosted the graduation ceremony for the 2025-26 Leadership Northwest Indiana program on April 10 at the Great Hall Events and Conference Center on its Westville campus, where 41 regional professionals completed an eight-month leadership course. 2026 Valparaiso University Jazz Fest
The Valparaiso University Department of Music presents the 2026 Valparaiso University Jazz Festival, with four days of events that take place Wednesday, April 22, to Saturday, April 25, in the University Theatre, located in the Center For The Arts, 1709 Chapel Drive. Each day will include workshop presentations by professional jazz artists, performances by area high school jazz ensembles, and nightly featured concerts.
