- ➤ Approximately 8,000 NIPSCO customers remain without power after Thursday’s thunderstorms and Friday’s dust storm—Valparaiso residents are expected to have power restored by 11:59 p.m. today while some areas may not see service until 11:59 p.m. Monday. Crews along with 380 contractors are working on large transmission lines first and then reconnecting individual neighborhoods after nearly 90% of over 100,000 customers had their power restored since Thursday night.
