- ➤ Union Pacific's legendary Big Boy Number 4014 will stop in Argos at 2:15 p.m. on June 5 for a 30-minute display (a whistle stop) as part of its coast-to-coast tour for America's 250th anniversary; the historic locomotive will also stop in Knox on July 16. XROCK 103.9

- ➤ The Urban League of Northwest Indiana held its annual Leadership Symposium on Tuesday, May 19 at Purdue University Northwest for over 300 high school students and community leaders who took part in interactive workshops on leadership and mentorship. NWI.LIFE

Annual Memorial Day Service May 25 at 11 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery
Graceland Cemetery will host its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Valor Hill, honoring all who have served with a special tribute to veterans laid to rest at Graceland over the past year. Conducted by American Legion Post 94, the free public ceremony will include the reading of each veteran’s name and will move indoors to the mausoleum in the event of rain.
