  • Sixteen local heroes from Lake and Porter counties have put on capes — sometimes real and sometimes in spirit — to take part in the second annual Clubhouse Hero Challenge for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana. The two-week fundraiser — ending June 8 with results announced June 9 — aims to raise funds to support club programs and daily operations.  NWI.LIFE
  • Patty Stovall led Sounds of Sarah’s third 'We Fight Together' 3K walk and run in Highland’s Wicker Park on Saturday to raise awareness for fentanyl poisoning and opioid overdoses.   • The business news covers many local changes—Dutch Bros Coffee will open a drive-thru in the old Pizza Hut at Valparaiso Marketplace while 7 Brew will start in Valparaiso and Crown Point and Misbeehavin’ Meads will relocate to Michigan City in July. Culver’s will open a second restaurant in Portage on Monday while Nothing Bundt Cake will debut at Valparaiso Marketplace, Boat House Grill in Michigan City has closed, and new venues at Grindhouse Cafe, Mo Chi and Maria’s Grocery and Taqueria add to the evolving scene.  NWI Times
