- ➤ The City of Valparaiso is welcoming newcomers with a digital New Neighbor City Services Guide that explains local services like water and trash pick-up — the guide also shows neighborhood maps and city highlights and will be sent by postcard to new and relocating residents. Valpo Life
- ➤ Porter County Sheriff Jeff Balon announced the creation of a Marine Unit to patrol Lake Michigan during heavy boating days—established with a donated watercraft and a grant for off duty officers and stationed at a slip provided by the Portage Port Authority. Z107.1
- ➤ Porter County near Burns Harbor will have eastbound U.S. 20 closed at I-94 Exit 22 for bridge repairs starting on or after June 2 — the closure is expected to last about two weeks. The detour will follow I-94 to State Road 49 — using loop ramps at the interchange to turn around. XROCK 103.9
- ➤ Porter County Sheriff Jeff Balon announced the creation of a new Marine Unit to patrol Lake Michigan during heavy boating days.
