- ➤ United Way Northwest Indiana partners with the MAAC Foundation to support an Emergency Medical Responder course that will run Mondays and Thursdays from June 15 through August 1, offering hands-on lifesaving skills training for community members, including those as young as 14. Valpo Life
- ➤ The MAAC Foundation celebrated its 19 Winter 2026 EMT Academy graduates on Monday, May 18 at its First Responder Training Campus in Valparaiso. The graduates completed hands-on training in patient care and emergency response to serve the community. Indiana 105
- ➤ Lowell High School’s FFA and teacher Whitney Nichols hosted their first plant sale on May 8 and 9 that far exceeded expected profit goals. The school will hold graduation for 230 seniors on June 9 at 6 p.m. NWI.LIFE

- ➤ Franciscan Health and Strack + Van Til are offering free educational programs on healthy eating in Valparaiso. The sessions will give practical guidance on nutrition, and details on times and locations can be obtained from the organizers. NWI Times
- ➤ Advanced Heart Failure Services began at Community Hospital on May 28 to ease care for patients with complex heart failure. - ➤ Michael Morris from Portage had a cervical discectomy and fusion performed by Dr. Wallace at Methodist Hospitals in September, which relieved his severe neck and arm pain and restored his mobility.
