- ➤ Valpo Parks will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new ValPlayso PicklePlex — featuring six new pickleball courts — on Monday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. at ValPlayso Park, 1400 E. Glendale Blvd; local food trucks will serve lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Valpo Life
- ➤ WVLP will host its annual fundraiser at Butterfield Pavilion on July 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where tickets cost $20 for adults and children 12 and under eat free with a paying adult; guests will enjoy an all-you-can-eat Mexican cuisine menu catered by El Cantarit0 (music entertainment will be announced later) to help keep the radio on the air. - ➤ Valparaiso will host the Six Strings Music Fest on July 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The event will feature live music by Bonfire—an ACDC tribute band, Head Honchos, Don’t Tell Mama, Lunoir, Moraine and Six Strings Students along with food from Leroy's, Peddler's Pizza and Valpo Velvet, vendors and raffles. - ➤ Tomorrow at Sunset Hill County Park, a three-day German-style Biergarten will offer Hofbräuhaus Bier from Munchen, US craft beer, cider, sausage, and pretzels — free admission and live music draw local families. - ➤ Calvary Church’s Lead Teaching Pastor Josh Reasoner, who grew up in Fort Wayne and earned a civil engineering degree from Purdue, joined Calvary in 2024 and has helped grow the church from about 600 to 2,000 members — a shift driven by renewed faith.
