- ➤ Valpo Parks is upgrading Creekside Golf Course and Forest Park Golf Course in Valparaiso. Creekside will get new cart paths and two high tech simulators this fall, while Forest Park will see new cart paths, a new irrigation system, club cars, benches, ball washers plus a Bender Golf Teehouse nearing completion for year-round play. - ➤ Valparaiso has launched a $1.5 million sewer and stormwater separation project with a $960,000 EPA grant and support from Congressman Frank Mrvan to protect Salt Creek and reduce flooding downtown—13 million gallons of stormwater will be redirected annually. The design phase, led by Engineering Director Max Rehlander and DLZ, will finish by the end of 2025 with construction set to start in March 2026. NWI.LIFE
- ➤ Hammond Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. signed Executive Order 25-12 today — the city has halted hiring in response to SEA 1, a law that cuts property tax revenue and threatens local services.
