- ➤ The Upwards Together Kite Festival will be held on Sept 13th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Sunset Hill County Park—free kites are available for the first 300 visitors as part of a Pop-Up Biergarten and Vendor Market for all ages. PanoramaNOW
- ➤ The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana launched its annual Return to Learn campaign to raise funds for nearly 8,500 Club kids as the school year begins. - ➤ A Valparaiso man allegedly reached 120 mph during a police chase on U.S. 30 — he crashed his Mercedes into a light pole. NWI Times

- ➤ The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana launched their annual Return to Learn match campaign to raise funds for nearly 8,500 club kids, including those in Valparaiso — every donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000 thanks to support from UChicago Medicine Northwest Indiana. - ➤ The Duneland Family YMCA in Chesterton unveiled the John and Laurie Wehner Evans Healthy Aging Center—formerly the Senior Center—to offer adults 55 and older fitness classes, educational programs, and games, and visitors used a temporary entrance at the Porter Avenue Parking Lot as construction continued on a new main entrance.
