United Way launched a fundraising campaign today to raise over $3 million for its everyday services in Valparaiso.
The campaign will support community programs and help boost local support.
More than 1,500 Northwest Indiana residents applied for United Way storm recovery assistance, the nonprofit's CEO said — the program continues helping families rebuild after recent storms.

Valparaiso invites residents to two October tree planting events to replace trees lost in a recent storm.
One event is Saturday, Oct. 3 at 200 East Park, featuring 22 trees, and the other is Saturday, Oct. 10 at 400 Elmwood Avenue & is funded by the Neighborhood Improvement Grant program.
