  • On September 9th, over 100 local business leaders gathered at White Hawk Country Club for an LCEA panel discussion on Northwest Indiana commerce, with representatives from healthcare, steel, data centers and housing sectors. The panel—moderated by Rick Calinski—addressed topics including energy challenges, workforce issues and the growing use of AI in industry.  NWI.LIFE

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Valparaiso installed three ADA-compliant picnic tables on the courthouse lawn to provide safe seating for visitors using wheelchairs and assistive devices - the Planning, Parks, and City Services departments coordinated the project. The city will add tables at two more downtown locations in 2026.  NWI.LIFE

HEALTH NEWS

  • Franciscan Alliance announced a leadership shift affecting facilities in Northwest Indiana and Chicago’s South Suburbs that will take effect Sept. 20. Franciscan Health Olympia Fields CEO Raymond Grady is named leader for Lake County hospitals (Crown Point, Dyer and Munster) while interim CEO Frank McHugh remains at Olympia Fields (after six years with the hospital).  NWI.LIFE
