- ➤ Purdue University Northwest invites prospective students and their families to join Preview PNW on Saturday, Oct. 18 at its Hammond campus from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.—the event will feature campus tours, firsthand information on academic programs, admissions, financial aid and waived application fees for those who apply during the session. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Porter County is facing a multi-million dollar shortfall next year because Senate Enrolled Act 1 will cut property tax revenue and challenge funding until 2028. The county council approved most spending requests for 2026—department heads have already given proposals, and the Sheriff's Office, Jail and Prosecutor will present theirs on Thursday.
