EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Valparaiso School Board approved—over $12 million in contracts—for two upcoming projects on Thursday night that will improve local schools. The work will begin soon and is expected to enhance facilities for students. NWI Times

- ➤ Today is National Move Over Day and Indiana State Police and INDOT are urging drivers to move over or slow down for emergency and disabled vehicles with flashing lights—if drivers cannot change lanes safely, they should reduce speed by 10 mph below the posted limit. Z107.1

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Franciscan Health said its Pet Therapy Program in Lake County received a $13,000 donation from the newly established Circle of 1875 to support training, animal care and outreach at its Crown Point, Dyer and Munster hospitals — the funds are expected to help recruit additional volunteers and expand services for patients, families and staff.
