- ➤ The Edge of Liberty— a privately owned four-acre farm on Calumet Ave north of Valparaiso— will host its craft fair on November 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering handmade goods, fresh organic produce, and food trucks for local visitors. PanoramaNOW
- ➤ Registration is open for the Valparaiso Turkey Trot, a 5K walk/run scheduled for November 27th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Hosted by the Porter-Starke Services Foundation, the event supports mental health and wellness programs and features a new packet pick up at Extra Mile Fitness Company—return service runs from Valparaiso High School to the YMCA. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ University of Chicago Medicine Crown Point announced it is expanding its 130,000 square foot facility in Crown Point with a 7,500 square foot addition (including 18 new exam rooms, a new X-ray unit, an extra operating room, two procedure rooms and five pre/postsurgical bays). Construction on the multispecialty clinic area will be finished early next year while work on the ambulatory surgery center will be completed in spring. XROCK 103.9
- ➤ Northwest Health La Porte and Northwest Health Porter hosted festive trunk-or-treat events for staff and families earlier this week.
