- ➤ On October 15, Valparaiso High School students took the PSAT and later celebrated Halloween with a Trunk-or-Treat on October 27 and a costume contest on October 31 — the school will stage a secret fall play from November 21-23 with cast members bound by a secrecy contract. Valpo Life

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Calumet Township will hold drive-thru food distributions at the Calumet Township Multipurpose Center—1900 W. 41st Avenue—on Thursday, November 6 and Thursday, November 20. - ➤ NIPSCO urges customers to install working carbon monoxide detectors on every level of their home this November — the utility stresses testing and replacing batteries since the odorless gas can be fatal in just five minutes. Z107.1
- ➤ Today, NIPSCO urged residents to install and test CO detectors during Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month — this odorless gas from incomplete fuel burning can kill quickly, and regular inspections of fuel-burning systems help prevent poisoning. Valpo Life
