  • Korellis hosted its 24th annual Safety Fest to teach job site safety and practical skills to roofers—sheet metal workers, masons, and carpenters participated in hands-on training on guardrail setup, fall arrest procedures, ergonomics, and defensive driving. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Nine Purdue University Northwest faculty members received approval for promotions on April 4 that will take effect on Aug. 18 during the 2025-26 academic year. They will advance to positions including professor, associate professor with tenure and clinical professor—recognizing their past achievements and promise for further growth.  Valpo Life
  • On April 3, Purdue University Northwest hosted its fourth Alumni Hall of Fame celebration to honor five distinguished alumni for their work in health, education, and community service. Chancellor Kenneth Holford welcomed the audience and recognized honorees like Nicole Kupchik (the first College of Nursing inductee) and Mitchell 'Mason' Macenski from Hammond, who continue to support future students.  Valpo Life

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • INDOT told drivers that overnight lane closures on I-94 between U.S. 421 and U.S. 20/35 in La Porte County began on March 31 and will run until about April 16 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., while phase one work starts—shifting two lanes left and including concrete patching and a bridge deck overlay that will slow traffic until mid-December.  Indiana 105
